I admit I've never made this as it'due south written, but I've changed it many times. Try throwing in chopped broccoli or different cheeses. Nigh all amounts tin can exist changed and it still works--more or less cheese, eggs, and any veggies you add together. This has become one of our staples, specially every bit meat prices get up and we await for other proteins.
03/04/2013
Brilliant recipe! May I suggest blending the cottage cheese to reach a more consistent texture. Variation- I usually add together 2c. chopped, mostly-cooked vegetable. Alter up the cheese or the vegetable...ie Gruyere/spinach, Gouda/broccoli, Muenster/zucchini, Swiss/mushroom, or Jack/peppers. If you brand it every Dominicus, no one will tire of it. Information technology reheats nicely for breakfast burritos.
06/16/2008
Piece of cake, quick, delicious! Nice brunch recipe considering yous don't have to make it the night before. I practice suggest using less salt or omit it.
01/01/2012
This was really proficient! I nonetheless did desire something that was thrown together the nighttime earlier, so I made it up to the signal of adding the flour and stuck it in the fridge until morning time. Then I added the flour, gave it a quick mix with the electric beater and popped it in the oven. iv adults were very happy with it. I practice have ane thing to annotate on...I haved the recipe and in doing so, the cooking fourth dimension was also cut. It took less than 45 min to melt. Just a heads upwardly in instance anyone else cuts it back! Great egg bake and am so pleased to not to have information technology include breadstuff in the recipe!
02/22/2014
First-class. I have fabricated it a couple of times. I add together vegetables (pre-cooked, whatever I have on hand), and bake it in muffin cups. Easy to grab and bring to piece of work.
03/15/2014
I got this recipe from a friend a few years agone and have made some variation of this dozens of times since then. My recipe includes a teaspoon of baking powder, which makes information technology puff up nicely. As written this recipe is five star, but hither are some other things y'all tin exercise. If you desire to speed upwards the blistering procedure, put it in a preheated 400 degree oven for fifteen minutes, so plough the heat down to 350 for some other 20-25 minutes. I sometimes add spinach and mushrooms instead of diced chilies. I ordinarily use just eight oz. of reduced fat abrupt cheddar to cutting down on fat and calories, and I employ eggbeaters instead of whole eggs. You can substitute olive oil for the butter, too. It keeps pretty well for a few days, but is best when it's fresh out of the oven.
04/19/2009
Everybody at the Easter buffet liked this a lot! Doubled information technology and it took at least another 45 minutes to melt. Concluded up microwaving for 5 minutes to complete then nosotros didn't hold up the repast.
01/13/2011
I made this recipe exactly every bit stated and we loved it! Nice and fluffy, lots of flavor. Perfect for a group. Reheats well.
03/15/2014
I loved this recipe. It's very easy to make and is even easier to tweak with some of your own ingredient choices. Earlier starting, I adjusted the serving size to 4 which is still more than 4 average folks would eat. I prepared the recipe exactly every bit presented with the exception I added ane/2 loving cup of chopped onions and i loving cup of small-scale cut broccoli florets. Another version I tried, instead of chopped onions I used chopped water chestnuts... All versions and then far are 5 star in my book. Fifty-fifty with the smaller serving recipe I yet broiled one hour @ 350° and the texture and taste were first-class... I topped servings with salsa, your choice mild, medium, hot. Then all I had to do was eat, sit back and enjoy the compliments.... -Jornie1

Try using Riccotta cheese whole milk is best ( if you're non counting) instead of cottage cheese. even smoother and fluffier. Then throw in anything else. apply cheese and topping that'south appropriate for the other throw ins.
10/28/2012
Very Yummy for my family! I used triple cheddar and mozzarella cheese in place of the pepper-jack and only sprayed the dish with olive oil instead of melted butter. Actually cheesy. Didn't quite have the total hour, more like 40 minutes and it was perfectly browned. I will endeavor other variation in the hereafter like added spinach and bacon to the dish to make information technology a ane dish meal.
03/xv/2014
The recipe came out beautifully! I basically followed the recipe except substituted butter-flavored cooking spray for the butter, but looking at the ingredients, felt it might be a bit banal. And so, I took some suggestions from others and added some rosemary, onions and about half of a Serrano pepper. As well threw in some garlic powder (almost 1 tsp), and about a tsp of baking powder to make it fluffier (which someone else had brash). Fifty-fifty with all those strong flavors, the final product had a very subtle co-mingling of the flavors. It definitely needs some blazon of topping -- we used the sour cream, salsa and sriracha.
06/17/2012
Delicious and easy to brand! Used cooking spray instead of butter and eliminated the salt. As well used whole wheat flour and it was fine.
03/16/2014
I take fabricated this dish too many times to count and I omit the flour, cottage cheeser and salt. I always added the larger can of diced greenish chiles and a personal sense of taste amount of jalapeño. My dish was always served with a nice large glob of chunky salsa, hot sauce, and warmed tortillas...with the option of sour cream. Throw it together so rapidly and sit around for an hour visiting with your guests and family unit over java or mimosas and still present an awesome breakfast. Salsa Fresca takes it over the pinnacle!!! I use shredded cheddar in the recipe with extra bachelor to height with on the plate. I've never added vegetables, etc., but now I will sure requite it a get sometime!
06/01/2011
Very easy! I took Hammertime'due south proffer and added 1 4 oz. can of diced green chilies. Considering I didn't have pepperjack, I just used regular monterey jack cheese. I did not add together the whole teaspoon of salt, just a pinch. I also added fresh ground pepper. This made but enough for our family unit (plus the company we had for dinner) and everyone loved it!
03/31/2013
Easy and tasty! I used habanero cheddar cheese, gave it a boot. I halved the recipe and broiled in a 9 Ten nine pan and it took near 25 minutes.
03/17/2014
For the gluten-free foodies, flour is not needed. The eggs practice a fine job of ascension and getting fluffy on their own. Whole milk goes a long way to help with that....just sayin. I simply love any kind of breakfast casserole/baked eggs.
12/06/2012
This... is the near succulent breakfast egg dish I've ever had. I made a pan of it for Thanksgiving breakfast and took it out to my Grandmother's firm since they hadn't eaten notwithstanding. My grandfather was leery of it because they hate trying new things only as soon as they tried it, everyone loved it. Almost came dorsum for seconds. I'm gonna brand a pan this morning I recollect but play effectually with the cheese combo. 5 Stars!
03/16/2014
I used depression fatty cheese and cottage cheese and it was still absolutely succulent! You can alter this recipe to fit your dietary needs, and then pay no attention to the naysayers. I added 1 tsp. of baking powder for fluffy eggs, per an before comment, and besides combined all ingredients in a blender. This recipe could not be any easier...and I've got a calendar week's worth of breakfast ready to become!
04/09/2012
Succulent!! I've made it for many holiday brunches, it has become a tradition, my family loves it!
03/17/2014
This was delish!
07/10/2012
Yum, these were so good. I used a alloy of monterey jack, cheddar, and mozzarella cheese, and garlic salt. I served them topped with a mild southwest salsa.
03/26/2014
reduced down to 2 servings & information technology was corking. Hubby fifty-fifty liked it & he refuses to eat annihilation with cottage cheese in information technology. What he doesn't know nigh this recipe won't hurt him!
09/12/2011
Proficient recipe : )
03/16/2014
I dearest this! Never would have thought to combine cottage cheese and eggs. Eggs are good for you. Cottage cheese is packed with protein.
07/29/2013
Really enjoyed this though don't know that it'south the healthiest. Love the cottage cheese in hither (hidden healthy). I likewise didn't think information technology needed salt though I threw in a milk shake or 2 of garlic salt but didn't taste it. I idea it was perfect and followed the recipe to the T without the salt.
03/fifteen/2014
It is meliorate without the added salt. Calculation herbs or chopped veggies would exist more than plenty season.
02/25/2014
This was really practiced! Very creamy and great flavor. I did add in some extra spices, and veggies, but the base recipe is cracking as a starter. Super easy weeknight meal!
03/22/2014
Wow! Succulent and easy...killer combination! I fabricated it according to the recipe except that I added a small tin of tuckered diced green chilies. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. It was one of those breakfast-for-dinner meals, and I served information technology with fresh fruit. This 1 is a keeper.
04/03/2013
Delicious! Halved the recipe, only added 2 extra eggs (8 instead of vi) and cut back on the common salt. Used monterey jack instead of pepper jack. Took well-nigh 35 minutes to bake.
03/xvi/2014
I've been making something similar, substituting Bisquick for the flour, Mexican blend cheese or whatever I have on hand, and adding dark-green chilies, sliced olives, and/or marinated artichokes or chopped mushrooms. It is wonderful for visitor because you can make information technology the night before and it reheats very well in the microwave.
03/21/2014
I've fabricated this recipe a gazillion times downwardly through the years. Everyone likes it. I've made it for breakfast, lunch, or a meatless dinner--mostly for 6-8 people. I would propose not blending the cottage cheese, equally another poster suggested, because it adds nice texture to the dish. I utilize the modest-curd cottage cheese. I utilize plain Monterey jack instead of pepper jack. Some people don't like spicy, and spicy tin can exist added on top with salsa, etc. This recipe is from an sometime book from the '70s or '80s called Frugal Gourmet Cooks... something--American (or possibly another of his books)listed under crustless quiche. I nonetheless have the paperback. Mesomorphic tomato sauce or light-green mesomorphic salsa is good with it, and for a alter, we similar chutney of the Major Grey variety on it.
04/09/2014
Groovy taste, but cooking for an hour caused it to be also brown on top. Take made a note to cheque information technology after near xl mins.
03/16/2014
So good! I cut information technology downwards to iv servings and it baked for 30 minutes. Overnice browning on tiptop. I as well used gluten free flour! Definitely a keeper. I like everyone's suggestions for alternate fillings.
08/xxx/2013
Really, really expert base recipe that lends itself beautifully to adaptations. I've made it 3 times in the past week, adding a variety of veggies each fourth dimension. It's come out perfectly each time -- never over- or under-cooked. This recipe is a keeper for sure!
04/05/2016
Followed bones recipe amounts exactly merely substituted a mix of cheeses on hand for the pepper jack... before blistering, added veggies from fridge that needed to be used: sliced fresh mushroom, diced red, yellow, orangish & greenish peppers, sliced greenish onion and chopped spinach ~ Oh and so YUMMY! Simply change I would brand is to use olive oil or non-stick spray on the dish rather than the butter.
03/fifteen/2014
These are delicious. My husband is very finicky and I add a pocket-size can of green chilis and he loves information technology!
x/eleven/2014
Left out flour for depression carb option
05/18/2017
I add sliced jalapenos, cooked crumbled sausage and a small amount of Tabasco. I cut into large Brent size pieces and wrap in plastic wrap. My husband takes it to work and warms it up with a tortilla. ?I don't have to get upward early and ready breakfast. My husband'southward motto is "I'm non hungry just I could consume."
10/12/2014
Very nice recipe. Manufacturers of cheese and/or cottage cheese may have added more salt to their products. Having added merely 1/2 t.to this recipe, I will omit the table salt next fourth dimension. Happy cooking. d
03/16/2014
I changed the recipe to be healthier past substituted low fat cheese and depression fat cottage cheese and used butter spray instead of butter. It turned out succulent. it was done in almost twoscore minutes. I likewise added fresh salsa on top of each portion. Very yummy...
02/17/2015
Tried this on my family and anybody loved it. Adjacent I served it to a big crowd at an RV Club outing; information technology was gone in a flash and I had requests for the recipe! As nearly others I've "played" with the recipe but generally I keep it elementary and let everyone to add together their ain choice of salsa, sour cream and hot sauce I provide on the side. Yet, I always add at least i-Tbs of Onion Powder and 1-tsp of garlic powder to the mix. It'south a swell goulash for vegetarians too.
03/xviii/2014
Easy to brand. I added onions, diced smoked ham and a chopped jalapeno. Great leftover besides.
01/06/2015
Information technology turned out really great. I liked the consistency the cottage cheese gave it. and the pepper jack made it overnice and cheesy. Information technology works well for larger groups. We have too much leftovers but it could save you fourth dimension in the morning time, only reheat information technology.
03/18/2014
It'south a keeper.....the finicky married man loved it, particularly with spinach.
01/05/2015
delicious! Substituted half of the eggs with EggBeaters, and used low fat cheeses. It was delicious, fluffy, and easy to brand.
09/fourteen/2014
I've made this recipe a lot, and have gotten so many compliments. It's nifty for visitor - you get an egg dish without having to stand over a pan while guests are there. I made it generally every bit written the first time, except I had to use cheddar cheese instead of pepperjack (for the kids). With the cheddar, it turned out also salty for my taste. At present I but utilise about i/4 tsp of salt instead. Baking the eggs makes it taste like at that place's a chaff on the bottom. This 1 is a keeper - and so versatile and succulent! **Edited to add: almost 3 years later, I find myself going back to this recipe (with only a pinch of common salt instead of the called for amount) over and over, and have served it to brunch guests so many times - our family still loves it!
07/09/2015
I sprayed deep muffin tins so lined information technology with wafer thin prosciutto and added jalapeños from a jar as suggested by other reviewers. popped them into the oven later a sprinkle of cheese on the acme, baked for abot 15 mins. The smell when I took them out of the oven was amazing! Great 'on the go nutrient' cold...fab warm with salad. Thank you for sharing.
03/15/2014
This is succulent with 1-two minor cans of diced green chiles added!!
06/21/2013
This was OK, just not anything exceptional or different, actually.
04/08/2014
This is a really piece of cake tasty dish. I made every bit a side dish for dinner and it was amazing. I also added a 7 oz can of diced dark-green chilis which goes well w the pepper cheese. Can't wait to try other combos with veggies and other cheeses. Winner!
05/16/2020
Simple, quick frittata - when I cut it downward to 3 servings, sautéed some peppers, onions and tomatoes in a cast atomic number 26 pan, then add the egg mixture, cover for a few minutes, and information technology's done, no oven needed
08/05/2015
yum, I added herbs, tomatoes & green pepper
02/13/2017
I fabricated this tonight with one change. Instead of cottage cheese, I used ricotta. Devoured by the family & tasted great!
12/03/2019
Love this recipe! I check it later 45 min in the oven because an hour is also long. I'm doing the low carb thing; so after the kickoff time I made this, I gradually reduced the flour. These days I don't employ whatsoever flour at all, and it still comes out cracking. You can add veggies and meat (pre-cooked). My favorite add-ins are spinach and turkey sausage.
05/10/2020
I made this today and it was like shooting fish in a barrel. I made the bones recipe and information technology was practiced, I think information technology would be expert with a niggling sauce or sautéed vegetables and maybe kielbasa or other meat
11/06/2021
I made information technology equally-is and information technology was succulent, but very rich/heavy/fatty (and a little bland). The 2d time around, I used half the cheese, and used depression-fat cottage cheese. To reduce the water, I tuckered the cottage cheese overnight. For punch, I added ane small tin of chilis (drained), 1 teaspoon each of garlic and onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of blackness pepper and red pepper or chili powder. Still satisfying and healthier, with less fat and salt.
07/17/2017
I did not have pepper jack cheese. I subbed medium cheddar. Worked slap-up. I will make this again and again. Good oversupply pleaser.
06/26/2016
i honey this recipe i used bisque instead of flour and i added diced potatoes green peppers onion and sliced tomatoes on top with lot's of cheese. a dollop of sour foam and salsa.
09/21/2014
I am not much of a cook but I made this recipe for two of us. I did 2 things differently. As recommended past another reviewer, I used 16 ounces of ricotta cheese in place of the cottage cheese. Also I FORGOT to add together the flour, however when I took it out of the oven information technology was perfect and puffed up something like a souffle. Nosotros both loved it!! There was so much left over that the next 24-hour interval I gave information technology to my sister and her hubby. Refrigerating overnight sort of deflated the souffle event, but it tasted just as good. They absolutely loved it and I shared the recipe with her. I also made a ditalini salad I found on this website to become with the egg dish as a side dish. It had ditallini, black beans avocado,...if you search it, yous will observe here. It likewise was splendid and information technology went well with this cheesy egg dish. I will make dishes again very soon!
10/04/2018
Halved recipe and broiled in pie dish using Kraft Triple Cheddar shredded cheese and added 1/two tsp baking pulverization black pepper. Accidentally mixed butter into ingredients (pulsed everything together in blender) and still turned it great!
02/19/2019
I love this egg goulash! I make information technology but like the recipe. I accept also used other cheeses to make it for small kids. This is a keeper!
04/01/2014
Turned out not bad! Used bisquick instead of flour was the only real alter. Subsequently baking I wrapped in a tortilla with sausage links, salsa & a dab of sour cream. Best breakfast burrito ever!!
01/09/2017
very proficient can apply whatsoever cheese
05/08/2017
I've fabricated this for ii people and then I used only six eggs, and that's as well much cheese, I've put 1 loving cup of swiss instead of one-half a pound of pepper jack.
03/21/2022
This cooked up and then well! And so easy! Halved only used seven eggs because I also sautéd half a crimson onion and some fresh spinach. Wish I had some green chiles! Will add next fourth dimension. Cooked up in 45 min and let sit for five minutes before cutting into slices. This is very customizable and plan to make again for an upcoming Palm Sunday brunch. Cheers Hammertime!
05/sixteen/2016
I used a combination of Colby-jack and sharp cheddar cheeses . To brand it gluten free I substituted Bob's Ruddy Manufacturing plant garb-fava flour that had been roasted 90 min in the oven at 200 degrees to temper the stiff bean flavour. I as well added onion and garlic powders to taste. It was delicious, and I will definitely make it once again.
01/05/2018
Good not swell.
09/19/2017
Delish and easy, made a one-half recipe and don't think it takes near as long to bake and then watch advisedly. Kids loved information technology, not too spicy, very good with sour foam +/- salsa Fabricated a whole recipe- 45 min was perfect
08/04/2014
This was great! I wanted to try something different for my husband and found this recipe. SO easy!! Since I simply wanted to brand information technology for him, I scaled the recipe downwards and used a mini ceramic loaf pan. I besides didn't accept cottage cheese and so substituted ricotta cheese and used shredded cheddar instead of pepper jack. I likewise added sautéed mushrooms, spring onions, green pepper & 1/two a diced peperoncini. My married man loved it!! It was finished baking in 30 minutes. I'll def be making this again!!
01/16/2017
I served this for our traditional Christmas forenoon breakfast. I made the casserole as directed by the recipe, but didn't add any of the other optional ingredients. My family raved about it, and two 12x9" aluminum blistering pans of it were barely enough! It's delicious merely using the basic recipe.
12/30/2015
I added tomato plant/dark-green chile peppers. Came out succulent!
09/nineteen/2015
Fantastic! Only thing I exercise differently is to add grated precipitous cheese on superlative and put it dorsum in the oven for 5 more minutes. You exercise demand to let it rest earlier serving (at least five minues) if using a glass baking dish or it will seriously stick!
05/27/2016
I added chicken. Fed this to six others and they raved about it!
03/27/2019
This was awesome! A tiny bit salty for my taste so next fourth dimension I'll reduce to 1/2 tsp. Delicious! Our family gobbled it up.
12/25/2019
I made this for Christmas day brunch what a striking i used a minor curd cottage cheese and added spinach I took the advice of one of our commenters and did not add together salt and it really didn't need it. We loved it
xi/21/2021
This was a neat recipe we added diced ham to make a perfect dinner. My kids loved it. No leftovers which is awesome. Some many things you lot tin can add to make information technology your own and different every time.
09/26/2020
Easy delicious recipe! Family favorite for Sunday morning brunch. Topping it with salsa gives information technology an extra boot.
02/21/2022

09/07/2018
This was so easy and yummy! I just dumped all the ingredients in a big mixing bowl and mixed altogether before putting it in the oven. All my family ate upwardly the whole thing in one sitting. Merely with shredded mix cheese from Costco and whatever leftover cream cheese, it was and so practiced. Hubby even idea that i had put expensive Gouda in. I recommend using whatever meat you accept, but chopped fine and mixed in if you lot can. I volition definitely make again.
03/31/2014
Delicious. Made this as it was written adding the diced chilies. Will definitely make again. Katherine
01/22/2017
Great as an egg dish to bring to a brunch. Basically followed the recipe, just with Costco's mexican shredded cheese instead of pepper jack but I think pepper jack would have been meliorate. It was done afterward 40 minutes. It was like shooting fish in a barrel, and turned out great, should feed 10 people fine, but it was a piddling boring. Adding chiles, peppers or veggies would exist an improvement. Hubby described it as "Egg cake," needs more cheese or something.
10/07/2013
Overnice soufflé-like dish. Will definitely make again with some fresh herbs, diced veg, etc.
03/09/2018
Good served with salsa.
03/sixteen/2014
I halved this recipe, added some crumbled bacon and baked in a pie plate. I topped with some additional cheese and paprika. I whisked the cottage cheese to make very polish. Yes, its probably rather fattening but its not something I would eat every week but cracking for a vacation brunch or special occasion. Information technology could certainly be made using depression fatty ingredients only since its not something I would consume oft I will prepare equally written. I have made something similar using cream cheese but I liked this even better. I tin see the potential for adding just about anything including basil, vegetables and ham. It was creamy and succulent and will keep this recipe as one of my favorites!
04/03/2016
Divine. I used nine jumbo duck eggs, used regular Monterrey Jack, added dice scallions, and roasted greenish chilies. I volition definitely be making this once again. It cooked very nicely in a bandage iron (Le Creuset) blistering pan -- it gave it a nice well-baked bottom.
11/24/2016
Turned out great and fluffy beyond excellent!!!!
06/16/2016
Made for a crowd of discerning foodies and received rave reviews!!!!
01/24/2020
I added some sliced carrots and used vegetable oil cooking spray to prep the blistering dish as I didn't have a way to brush on any melted butter. I baked for a full 60 minutes and the eggs browned nicely to form a crust. Delicious and a good way to get my oldest to eat some eggs.
x/30/2020
Good, added jalapenos and some parmesan, jack cheese instead of pepperjack. Delicious but not exciting, needs to be served with something. Next fourth dimension will add more than veggies.
01/14/2019
Family unit loved the eggs.
02/05/2015
Cheesy and Easy!
10/23/2014
All the family enjoyed this recipe, although they won't have anything to do with quiche. I loved it because it was piece of cake and I could prepare it ahead.
04/25/2016
We take done this with everything as written except nosotros've used other shredded cheeses instead of pepper jack. Have as well used different types of meats, such every bit bacon, ham and sausage. Here'southward a swell tip if you're having bug with your block pan. Nosotros accept recently did the recipe using italian sausage, italian shredded cheese blend AND used deep dish pie crust. Information technology came out absolutely perfect!!
